The country of Denmark is surrounded by sea, and the

sea is an important part of life to many Danes. Some,

known largely as "Vinterbader", or "Winter Bathers"

enjoy swimming in the water year round because they

feel it is good for their health. Some also believe it is

part of their viking heritage and refer to their clubs as

"Viking Clubs".
