Brian Thomsen has been fishing in the Skattegat Sea,

off the northeastern coast of the Danish peninsula of Jutland

in the town of Skagen, for 35 years. His father was a

fisherman and Thomsen began helping him at a young age.

In the modern age of large industrial boats, it is difficult for

small-scale fishermen like Thomsen to make a living, but tourists

continue to buy the røspætter that are caught in the nets that they use.
